What is included in management reporting?
Every package includes a monthly profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement and a KPI summary tailored to your business. From there we layer in variance analysis against budget, rolling 12-month forecasts, and any specific metrics that matter to you, such as gross margin by product line, debtor days or contribution per client.
How often will I receive reports?
Monthly is the standard pack, delivered within ten working days of month-end. Clients in faster-moving sectors take weekly cash and pipeline updates on top of the monthly pack, and we run quarterly board packs for clients with external investors or non-executive directors.
What reports do I actually get?
You get one tidy PDF and a live dashboard. The PDF has the executive summary, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and variance commentary. The dashboard updates automatically from Xero or QuickBooks and lets you click through to underlying transactions.
How is management reporting different from accounting?
Accounting is statutory: year-end accounts and tax returns built to satisfy HMRC and Companies House. Management reporting is internal: monthly numbers built to help you make better decisions. Who reads the reports? Just me, or my whole team?
Both. We can split the pack into a board-level executive summary, an operational pack for managers and a finance pack for your bookkeeper. Each stakeholder sees what matters to their role, not the full document.
Do I need to be in North London to work with you?
No, most of our management reporting clients meet us online through Zoom. We work with businesses across London and beyond. That said, we are based in Cuffley and most clients are within forty minutes' drive of the office. We will visit you for the kick-off and quarterly reviews where it makes sense.
